People trying to keep power are destroying America

This is a letter I wrote to the President about letters I wrote to the Chairman and CEO of General Motors. I was trying to help America, Americans and if there was an opportunity, myself. I was trying to offer innovative ideas that should be considered to help America. What do you think, does it seem possible and would it help?

This is the letter below:

Dear Mr. President,
First I want to wish you and yours the very best life has to offer. I send this letter to you having the self doubt that anyone would have when they try to do something they feel is important to more than just themselves.

Below is the body of a letter I sent to the Chairman and the CEO of General Motors. I had hopes that it would secure a position with the company for me. To be honest I would be happy if someone just listened to my ideas and used them because I believe they can make a difference.

I don't understand why this hasn't been done already, could it be because there is an agreement already with other battery companies that is putting G.M. and the American economy in jeopardy? These questions will become clear after you read the letter I sent below.

Beginning of letter sent???..July 26, 2009

Dear Sir:

I am requesting a meeting with you to discuss the future of the new General Motors. I believe G.M. and America's future could be affected in this meeting. I am sure you understand the concept of the phrase "big picture". The ability to visualize how multiple parts fit together to create a single vision. I would like the opportunity to present my vision to you in person. I will tell you now that I am looking to create an opportunity for myself either permanent or consulting but I believe you will find it mutually beneficial if you have an open mind to new perspectives.

If I am allowed to present my ideas, I believe you would find them very interesting. G.M. has already developed a hybrid car called the Volt, which from my research is partially manufactured in the United Kingdom. This could be an opportune situation as you will see later in this letter. Envision removing the gas engine components and creating a completely electrical powered car. The problem with a completely electrical powered car is the commercial viability of such a car. The problem of taking more than 10 or 15 minutes to fully charge an electric car makes it impractical for commercial production. No one would want to buy it because of the inconvenience of how long it takes to fully recharge the batteries.

Through my research I have discovered a company that has developed batteries that are able to be fully recharged in less than 15 minutes. I have also found a car company that uses the batteries to produce a custom built sports car. The sports car is reported to be able to get 150 miles per charge. The car costs over $200,000 dollars to build because it is custom built. The car is built in the United Kingdom where the company is located. The name of the car company is The Lightning Car Company, the name of the car is Lightning GT. Here is the company website (http://www.lightningcarcompany.co.uk/home.php). This website will give you information on the features of the car and the batteries it uses.

I believe G.M. with its vast resources would be able to mass produce a completely electrical car for less than $30,000 dollars (based on the $40,000 for the Volt) which would make it commercially viable because of the ability to be fully charged in less than 15 minutes. This is important when away from home and the car requires a recharge. G.M. should be able to increase the mileage over 150 miles per full charge. G.M. already has the technical expertise from the development of the Volt. You just need my vision to direct this expertise.

I will be a valuable asset to your company. I would describe my skills as the following: experience as a manager and team builder (taking low performing employees and building a high performing team), diversity facilitator (training exec to hourly level employees. I mention this because of work cultures, exec through hourly employee cultures are different and understanding this is important when trying to get employees to buy into changes), process architect, high level design, programmer, system analyst.

I see an opportunity to inspire a new mindset for your upper management by using my experience with the various skills I have accumulated. To encourage them to visualize the unrestricted opportunities that developing a completely electric car creates. This could release the very best ideas in your designers and engineers and could spread through out the company. The development of a completely electric car could have a domino effect for the American economy in the creation of jobs and strengthen G. M. for the future. You are probably asking yourself how right now, please read on.

G.M. should create strategic alliances with solar companies and battery companies, (the company supplying the car batteries also has storage batteries). By aligning G.M. with solar companies and battery companies, G.M. dealers could offer a promotional package when an electric car is bought. The solar and battery companies would install in the car buyer's home, at special pre-negotiated prices, solar panels and storage batteries to store the extra electricity captured by the solar panels. Only the home owners who could afford this deal would take advantage of it but thinking nationally this could grow to be very profitable for all involved. The installation of solar panels would help offset the increase demand for electricity to charge the electric cars. Any excess electricity created in the home could be sold back to the electric company. These are all selling points for buying the car. People are becoming very tech savvy and green conscious, they want the latest tech devices.

The electric car presents an unrestricted opportunity to design cars any way you like, it could be as small or large as you want or the American people want because there are no EPA regulations to restrict the designs in this area, no pollution created by electric cars. G.M. could build a single chassis that fulfills crash requirements then design and build multiple styled frames to fit the chassis.

Jobs would be created installing solar equipment and storage batteries in the homes, creating solar panels in the factory, creating batteries in the factory for the electric car and for storage in the home. Jobs would be created in the G.M. factory producing the cars. Supplier factory jobs to produce the components of the electric cars such as the electric motors for the wheel drive that powers the car.

This is good for G.M. (not to mention the great public relations) and the American economy. American companies use too lead because they thought about long term profits not just short term quarterly profits. When I took business classes, I was taught that you could tell a good company because a good company always put money into research and development (R&D) to create new products or improve existing ones. American companies are in trouble because companies didn't have competition to push them now that they have competition pushing them, they are afraid to take chances to lead the companies of America into the 21st century.

I have expressed general ideas of what I think can be done, I have much more detail information of what will need to be done to make this vision a success. You also have resources I don't have access too that would help improve my ideas to make G.M. a strong company again and a leader in the automotive field. Please don't be afraid to take a chance, I am sure I can help.

Mr. President:
I couldn't keep quiet about this Bush tax cut issue any longer. I understand about compromising to keep things moving toward economic recovery but I believe in your heart you know this is not the right thing to do for America. By keeping the Bush tax cuts as they are, the deficit will have to be lowered by cutting benefits for Americans (under $200,000) that can ill afford to have benefits cut at this time in the economic recovery. Please don't use unemployment as an excuse because the Republicans know they will burn if they don't fund unemployment benefits. Republicans and Independents need unemployment benefits just like Democrats.

You must ask yourself what the difference is if you allow all the Bush tax cuts to expire because Republican won't compromise or make this compromise then later cut benefits to lower the deficit that Americans really need. Why not allow Americans to decide if Republicans care about them and shared sacrifice or just about money in their pockets.

I ask you to decide if there is anything you feel is worth fighting for to the death (so to speak) because it is the right thing to do morally for America?

Why no true innovation in America

My understanding is the money we pay for oil to foreign countries helps finance the terrorists who want to kill Americans and others that do not believe as terrorist believe. So why do we allow companies to stop true innovation because they are unwilling to change? Afraid of change because they what to maintain the status quo to protect their profits. They have no new ideas and could care less if maintaining the status quo hurts Americans or America as a whole. All the executives of these companies care about are the profits the company makes so they can keep their jobs and the extreme salary and compensation they are paid.

When I speak of innovation I am talking about the current wave of technology that is available now. Completely electric cars can be built now, we have the technology and if they were mass produced they probably would be very affordable. People think one problem with electric cars is recharging the battery because it takes too long, 5 to 8 hours. This is where keeping the status quo comes in, there is a company called "Altairnano Technologies" who states they have developed a battery that can be fully charged in 10 minutes. If a car can be fully charged in 10 minutes the inconvenience of time (taking too long) is no longer a problem. The technology to build an electric cars is already developed, I point to the GM Volt. Combine the technology of the GM Volt and the Altairnano battery and we could be on our way to independence from oil.

Now because of the extra electricity that will be needed to charge the cars, a new innovation being used right now by major companies such as GOOGLE, WALMART, EBAY, FEDEX, COKE and more could be used. The company's name is "Bloom Energy", they have developed a way to create electricity from very cheap materials. They call it the "Bloom Box", it can create electricity from various sources, one is natural gas which is probably already in the majority of homes in America. If you had an electric car you would what to charge it at home, right?

Think of the possibilities of new jobs being created. Envision jobs needed to build the cars, building then installing the products that will create the extra electricity (solar, wind, Bloom Box, natural gas, etc). In gas stations there will need to be charging stations built for electric cars. If it only takes 10 minutes to fully charge an electric car it becomes practical.

Why shouldn't companies be made to change because of new innovation just like workers always have to change because of new innovations? Americans lose their jobs because companies tell them their position is no longer needed, well companies that aren't able to come up with or keep up with new ideas are no longer needed. The safety of America and the full employment of Americans come first, not the status quo so company executives can continue to make their money selfishly without regards of what it is doing to America.

I have given you the companies and my vision of what I think is possible in a very short time. It will be up to you to research the companies. See if you can envision what I think can be done if we don't allow the status quo to continue.

A book that could change your life

I want to share a book with anyone that seeks a better financial life. The name of the book is "The Richest Man In Babylon" by George S. Clason.

When I first read this book I was too young to completely understand it. I have tried to read it twice a year to remind myself of the lessons it teaches and to gain a better understanding of those lessons. I have to admit I have not always followed the lessons faithfully but have tried. I know absolutely that if I had not read this book I would be in a worst financial situation than I am now. Don't misunderstand me, I have no idea what it means to be rich but I am not living day to day or paycheck to paycheck either. It's because I always learned some lessons from the book and followed them.

I am reading the book again because of how bad the economy has been the past two years. I hadn't read it for about three years which was a big mistake. I should have read the book when the economy first crashed but was trying to survive the crash without using knowledge from the book. By not reading the book I started doing things which was the opposite of what it teaches. I will not continue to make these mistakes.

I have always told my relatives and friends about this book, some have but most have not read the book. Only some of the ones that have read the book actually took it to heart and followed the teachings. They are the ones that have thanked me for turning them on to the book.

Since I am reading it again I thought I would share the book with as many people as possible and hope they get something out of it. Money is what drives America and how to handle money is important. This book will help you understand things such as when and when not to loan money, why the banks won't loan you money unless you have money, how to save money when you think you don't make enough money to save any, why it is important to make your saved money make money and much more.

The Republican Party leaders' strategy of division will not work, no matter what tactics they use to divide Americans.

African-American sellouts:

I continue to see African Americans defending republican insults directed at people of color. I have seen people of color, not of the African American culture also defend these insults even when directed at their culture. I have no idea why someone would defend a person spitting in their face unless there is a selfish motive involved. This selfish motive has to directly improve their individual status in life. African Americans that support the republican agenda are selling out their culture and their own self respect. There is no explanation for this type of behavior by someone of the African American culture. It is demeaning to them and the culture they represent, even when they say they don't represent the African American culture, they do. Accepting a slapped in the face by people of a different culture just to improve your individual status in America is inexcusable. The go along to get along behavior being shown by African Americans is not productive to America's future. It would be very irresponsible to say that all republicans not from the African American culture are showing racists attitudes and too much of a generalization but it can be said the agenda of the Republican Party leaders is to be divisive. The Republican Party leaders are creating division between white Americans and Americans of color to advance their selfish irresponsible plans to regain political power in America, which will also bring monetary benefits to the republicans.

It is embarrassing for African Americans to defend the Republican Party leaders' position, it makes them look ignorant of what the Republican Party leaders are trying to accomplish. It's like peeing in their face and telling them it's raining and they accept the lie with a smile. African American republicans that defend the republican leaders' agenda are an embarrassment to themselves and the African American culture. It goes back to the mentality of house slaves but there is an insidious motive to what these African Americans really are trying to accomplish, they are trying to improve their personal status in America without regards to the effect on their culture. These same selfish motives can be applied to the Republican Party leaders, irregardless of culture, that have been negative and divisive.

The reason the Republican Party leaders agenda is detrimental to the overall growth of America is it is dividing Americans at a time when unity is needed to bring America out of this economic recession. We are at a time in American history when we need to join together to guarantee America's future will be strong and productive. This is a critical time for America but there are people who are only interested in what they can obtain for themselves, we need to be careful because these people will destroy America. They no longer believe in leaving an America that's strong and will last forever. They believe in what they can gain for themselves today, they believe in a philosophy of "I got mine, you get yours", they think "why should I care what happens to America after I die".

Pete Rose:

Which is more detrimental to baseball, steroids or gambling? This would seem to be the question that needs to be asked when determining whether someone involved in either deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Steroids before it was found out players were using them helped bring baseball back into public favor. The excitement of home runs being hit at the time was what brought Baseball back into the forefront of sports. A lot of people had stopped watching Baseball because of the strike, it takes longer to play and it's less exciting than say Football. There were two events in Baseball that caught the attention of spectators and made it popular again. First was the single season home run race between Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa, second was the Barry Bonds phenomenon.

Now let's see what happened with gambling. There was the Black Sox scandal about throwing the World Series in the early 1900's that almost destroyed baseball. That is why gambling is not an acceptable activity for baseball players, basketball players, football players or basically any sports player to be involved in.

So while there may be a question of records being broken by players on steroids at least you know they were giving their all to win the game. The same cannot be said about a player gambling. The situation of gambling taints the game to me more than players using steroids. Not being inducted into the Hall of Fame is the predefined cost of baseball players gambling, this is a precedent already made in Baseball. There is no precedent set for steroid use because this is a new experience. The reason for not using steroids was mostly medical but other types of medication have been used in sports, painkillers are used to allow a player to get back in the game to play, is this a form of using a type of enhancement to help performance because without it the player couldn't perform. These different types of factors must be considered before any ban from the Hall of Fame for use of steroids can be determined fairly.

Message received:

Tuesday August 11th, 2009 President Obama held a town hall meeting in Portsmouth, N.H., it was reported by the News media that a man was on church grounds a block or so down the street from the town hall meeting wearing a gun strapped to his leg in plan site. First, I find it difficult to understand why a church would allow someone on church grounds wearing a gun. Second, the man was holding a sign that in its entirety was a quote from Thomas Jefferson about spilling blood for patriotism, he just left out the part about spilling blood, I guess he didn't want to be to obvious. The complete quote is "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. " I got the message, watching the town hall meetings on cable News makes me feel very uncomfortable and I worry about the safety of Americans of color especially Black Americans.

I got the message, some Americans don't believe America belongs to all Americans, especially Americans of color. I say "some " but if the majority American culture stays quiet about what is happening than is it "some " or is it "more than some "? Will Americans unable to control their hate for others be allowed to violate the rights of Americans of color like they did during the years of lynching? Will Americans that understand America is strong because of America's diversity wait until Americans of color are being attacked and killed before they speak up against the actions of Americans with evil and hate in their hearts?

I got the message, Americans that feel small are acting like spoiled little children that can't get their way, so they resort to behavior that may make them feel better but it's the type of behavior that will destroy America. This is the time when Americans need to be joined as one people, Americans.

I got the message, the people that incited this type of behavior for selfish reasons such as hatred, ego (to feel big because people follow and listen to them), power and money in their pocket will defend the behavior by saying these people are angry about the path America is taking. Right, President Obama is trying to share the wealth with all Americans. He's trying to create a foundation for Americans to build on for centuries by creating new types of jobs that businesses can't send over seas to be done. But there are people that don't want America to change, they want it to stay the same because of selfish greed and are the motivators of the hate that is spreading. There are people that know all they need to do is say, he's different from us and people will follow like little children because they can't get pass the hatred passed from generation to generation. They wonder why they can't get ahead in America although they try very hard, so they look for someone or something to blame. They never look to blame the people that are spreading hate, because it can't be the fault of the people spreading hate and telling them it's because of the people different from them they can't get ahead. The people telling them to hate are like them and care about them or do they really care about money and power. These people who spread hate know people that are struggling to get ahead in life want a reason why the struggle is so hard, these people that spread hate tell them it's because of people that look different from them. I think it's the people spreading hate holding people back. You can be so focused on hating, you will miss opportunities to improve you life and do better for your family.

Healthcare reform:

Why is our support for President Obama wavering? We voted him into office because he had bold new ideas to help America and its people. He talked about helping all Americans the bottom 80% of Americans and the top 20% of Americans but the top 20% would have to kick more into the pot to help America and in the long run themselves. Now we are doing what we always do, we let the Americans who like the status quo scam us, they do it by scaring us into thinking we are going to lose what we have but the truth is we don't really have anything to lose.

Take health insurance, I acquired private health insurance in 2008 in case there was an emergency and I needed surgery. The deductible was too high to cover anything but an emergency. I had to pay $207.00 per month. I had to choose a deductible of $5000.00 so I could get the premium down to $207.00 per month. This means I would have to pay all of the $5000.00 deductible within the year 2008 before the insurance company would pay anything, plus the monthly premium of $207.00 which at the end of the year, I would have paid $7484.00 total. This doesn't include the 20% I have to pay out of pocket because the insurance only pays 80% of the bill. I also have to pay any other uncovered expenses the insurance company won't pay because there are always other expenses the insurance companies won't pay. Then 2009 came, my deductible was still $5000.00 but my premium increased to $232.00 per month. The insurance company increased my premium payment by $25.00 per month. I had a hard time paying the $207.00 per month. I'm sure I am not the only American that feels they are in this no win situation. What will I do in 2010 when the insurance company raises my premium again, maybe more than $25.00 per month, I'm not sure I will be able to afford another increase.

I never used the insurance in 2008, just paid the monthly premium, which totaled $2484.00 for the year. My question is why did they increase my premium, because they can? Because I can't do anything about it, I can't even switch to another insurance company because it would be the same or worse. If I switched to another insurance company and became sick before a whole year had passed, the insurance company would call it a preexisting illness and would not cover it. So I would be playing Russian roulette if I changed insurance companies. That's good for the insurance companies but not fair or an honest way of doing business with the American people.

Common sense, like 2 plus 2 equals 4, should tell you that Senators and Representatives whether democratic or republican that accept contributions from the Healthcare industry and financial companies cannot be trusted to vote for change. How can they be trusted, when the money they get is more important to them than doing what is right for the American people they are suppose to represent. The most important thing to them is getting enough money to be re-elected or retire rich (did you know they get to keep the left over money donated to them for campaigns when they retire, no matter how much money is left over).

President Obama is trying to change things but needs the American people to be brave and support him. How do I show support for President Obama you ask. You do it by watching the News, paying attention to what is happening around you. Find out if your Senator or Representative supports reform. If they don't support reform write or call and tell them to support reform or you will vote for someone that will in the next election. The best way to tell if a change President Obama supports is good for the majority of the American people, just listen to the negative statements being made about the change and who is making them. The more negative the statements, the more you will know how much the change will benefit the majority of the American people. People who what the status quo for selfish reasons will lie and say the change will harm the American people but the American people have been harmed already and need change from the status quo that put us in this situation.

A critique of President Obama:

I want to share my perspective of President Obama's performance 7 months into his term. President Obama may and I repeat may be too trusting of the people in charge of his change and economic projects.

I read in Colin Powell's autobiography what his experience had taught him about being responsible. He wrote "Being in charge means making decisions, no matter how unpleasant" and "Being responsible sometimes means pissing people off".

You have a company and you give a friend a job. This job carries a lot of responsibility and would cause other employees in your company to lose their jobs if your friend wasn't doing his job. You would want to help your friend but you can't do his job and your job, so you would have to get someone else, right. You would have to replace your friend because you are responsible for not only your company but all the other employees.

I think the Vice-President is letting President Obama down. The Vice-President is in charge of the stimulus money and seeing there's no corruption. The Vice-President just said they made a mistake judging how bad the economy was or was he really saying he's the wrong person for the job of distributing the stimulus money. The News is reporting the stimulus money has been slow getting out to the states, I see the reason being the Vice-President not understanding the urgency of getting the money out and when he first took over the responsibility it was a day and night job for everybody involved. Now there are reports saying the road and bridge construction money isn't going for roads and bridges, it's going for bike paths, landscaping and other things that aren't really making the infrastructure better or creating a lot of jobs for Americans. The Vice-President is in charge of this, why is this happening? Is it happening because of the Governors or because of the Mayors, which one decides where the stimulus money is spent? What is their real agenda, putting people back to work and making America great or something else like seeing President Obama's agenda fail or are they some how putting money in their own pockets? What is the answer?

We should be investigating why the banks are not loaning money to small businesses and making it harder than it should be for Americans to get consumer loans to buy cars and houses. The Banks can't say it's because they don't have the money because the banks are making profit again and giving bigger bonuses to execs than before the economy failed.

It's not too outrageous to think if President Obama's agenda succeeds it mean changes the financial and business segments of the economy doesn't want to happen. The financial and business segments of the economy have been very out spoken against the changes President Obama advocates for the majority of Americans.

So, for me President Obama may be too trusting of the people he has put in charge of his change and economic projects. But in the end, it's President Obama's responsibility to make the changes necessary to be successful.

Colin Powell:

First let me say General Powell is a great American, I am not only proud of him but he also gives me pride because he visually breaks the mindset of not being able to succeed in America if you are a Black American. I just saw in the news where Colin Powell believes Dr. Louis Gates could and probably should have avoided getting arrested. This is an absolutely true statement, black men know exactly what they have to do not to be arrested, they keep from being arrested by bending over and taking it. Even some white males know how it works.

But what if you're in your own home, the police invade your home, you have done nothing illegal and you have identified yourself as the owner of the home, you have proved you belong there and because you're in your own home, today you just don't feel like bending over and taking it. Maybe if it was tomorrow but not today because you just got back from a trip and had problems getting in your home, instead you think the police should leave your home because you have identified yourself as the owner, you are an accomplished Harvard professor of some world renowned, you haven't done anything illegal and because the officer won't leave, you feel like the officer's actions are because you are a Black American instead of an American that looks like him.

Why was Dr. Gates arrested, he doesn't have the right to speak loudly if he wants in his own home, he doesn't the right to get upset when he expects the officer to leave his home after he has identified himself as the owner of the home and asked the officer to leave, he doesn't have the right to free speech to call the officer's actions racist when the officer refuses to leave his home knowing that Dr. Gates owns the home and has done nothing illegal.

I believe if Dr. Gates had been white the officer would have been more excepting of the behavior the officer says he arrested (illegally) Dr. Gates for displaying. If Dr. Gates had been white, racism would not have been involved in the situation. Maybe and we don't know for sure right now what happened but maybe the officer became offended when Dr. Gates called his actions of not leaving racist and the officer took it personally, which means he acted unprofessionally. What the officer doesn't realize his actions became racist and unprofessional when he arrested Dr. Gates illegally.

Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity:

These guys are racist, trying to call President Obama a racist. President Obama never specified anything about culture when he said the act of arresting a man (a Harvard professor at that), in his own home once he had identified himself was a stupid act, whether the man was Black, Brown, Red, Yellow or White it was a stupid act. What was the police officer doing, putting the big time Harvard professor in his place, what's the matter officer, jealous of the professor's accomplishments?

Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are racist, unable to accept a man of color being President of the United States. Oh, I shouldn't say they are racist because that means I'm racist or at least they will try to turn it around that way. They probably would have a problem with a woman being president even if she was white. People like them are holding America back because they only think about themselves. They don't care about the Republican Party they only care about how to use it to feed their ego and their desire for power and money. By catering to people that only care about accumulating great wealth and to people that have a low desire for educated knowledge. Educated knowledge means you have enough knowledge about a subject to know what you are talking about not just enough to be dangerous faking your knowledge.

These guys remind me of the rich plantation owners back during slavery. Slavery was great for the rich plantation owners but was a disaster for poor white folks. It was a disaster for poor white folks because it kept them poor, the rich plantation owners didn't need to hire and pay poor white folks to work the cotton fields because they had slaves. This meant there were no jobs for poor white folks. Maybe the rich plantation owners would let the poor white folks share crop their land but that meant renting the land from the rich plantation owners then borrowing money to buy tools and seeds to plant. When harvest time came the poor white folks had to pay the rent for the land, pay back the money they borrowed and give up part of the crop because that is what share cropping means.

Here is the greatest scam ever pulled, when Abraham Lincoln became president he wanted to stop the spread of slavery. This meant all new states would not be allowed to have slaves but all the southern states that had slaves already could keep them. This wasn't good enough for the rich plantation owners, so they left the United States knowing this meant war. The rich plantation owners told the poor white folks to fight for their southern way of life. The way of life that kept poor white folks poor and rich plantation owners rich. So the poor white folks fought and died for a way of life that kept them poor while the rich plantation owners stayed in the background and commanded the poor white folks to charge the union soldier's gunfire.

That is why Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and others like them remind me of the rich plantation owners running a scam on the American people that think these guys really care about them.

Michael Vick:

American's sensibilities pertaining to human life verses animal life seems to be completely distorted. I understand Americans have their own unique culture pertaining to animals and a desire to be the leader in the humane treatment of all life on the planet. Is this a true statement or do Americans pick and choose what life they what to show humane treatment too? Based on history and actions, we choose what life we will show humane treatment too.

When I see TV shows such as Animal Planet where animals such as cats and dogs are rushed to get emergency care and shown more humane treatment than a human being is shown that is not on TV, makes me wonder if Americans are losing their way. The TV show doesn't show why treating the animal will probably be a waste of money because if the animal isn't placed with a human being that will permanently take care of the animal, the animal will be euthanized, the true word is killed, murdered just because there are too many of them, we use euthanized to protect the sensibilities of people, less emotionally true. To put it in a purely economic, cold blooded, uncaring way it is a waste of tax payer's money. Especially since we are debating whether all American human beings deserve to have health coverage.

Now here is Michael Vick, raised in the south where dog fighting is probably a part of the culture, although underground and is not considered being cruel to animals. It's like bull or cock fighting, in some cultures eating dog or cat is a delicacy. Now, because you are an American do you have the right and are you arrogant enough to say these other cultures are wrong? If you do think they are wrong and eat beef, you could be considered a hypocrite because in India the cow is considered sacred and is treated equal to or better than how a dog or cat is treated here in America.

To put Michael Vick in jail for two years because he fought and killed dogs seems extreme and unreasonable to a person trying to be open minded about why all American human beings do not have health coverage. American values seem distorted, especially when you have more money than you know what to do with, so you join PETA and harass the President of the United State about swatting a fly.

To call yourself a humane person and you have animals as a higher priority than an American human being, should make you question your priorities. If I say human beings are more important than animals, am I trying to be godlike, deciding what life form is more important, the one made in his image or the other creatures he created? The only way to be fair is that no life form be killed for any reason, not even survival.

I have to admit this about myself, it probably would be easier to kill a human being that has angered me than it would be to kill a dog or cat or any other animal, especially for sport. That shows how distorted my mindset is about human life and how distorted the mindset is of the people that wanted the death penalty for Michael Vick. I believe this is probably because of Media and Computer Games which uses the killing of human beings as entertainment. How distorted has your mindset become?

Dr. Gates encounter with law enforcement:

Why would someone that has been surrounded with praise from the time they were born until the time they die, attempt to find a reason to understand how someone that has been told and shown from the time they were born until the time they die that they are not as good as the person who has been praised all their life?

In America from the time we start school only one culture is studied in depth. Only one culture's accomplishments are taught to our children. All information about other culture's accomplishments takes extra effort to learn and is taught outside of the normal curriculum, if taught at all. The majority culture is not encouraged (by their own) to make that extra effort to learn that the history they learn about themselves is tainted. When the majority culture looks around from the time they are born to the time they die, they see people that look like them in charge of media, business and the most important item in a capitalistic society MONEY.

It is common sense to conclude that this kind of systemic false praise of one's self can lead to the feeling of superiority, along with a sense of entitlement. So when someone who is not part of the majority culture and is considered below the person from the majority culture, speaks in a manner considered insolent and the person from the majority culture has some type of power to cause discomfort, they may use this power to put the person they feel has been insolent in their place. A feeling of they have gotten too big for their breaches and need to be slapped back down. This may not be a malicious conscious act but has the same results.
